About Out of the Norm
A different perspective on Central Portugal's history, landscape, and stories.
The story behind Out of the Norm Tours
Out of the Norm Tours grew from a love of landscape, local history, and the strange, beautiful layers that make Portugal what it is. This is not about polished bus-tour storytelling or generic sightseeing scripts. It is about sharing places that still carry a strong sense of presence, memory, and meaning.
Having lived in this part of Portugal for years, I have spent a lot of time exploring dolmens, castles, backroads, villages, old paths, and the stories tied to them. Before this, I created an Ancient Goddess Tour in London, so guiding people through places with myth, history, and atmosphere has long been part of how I work.
From London streets to Portuguese stones
Before Out of the Norm Tours, I created and led the Ancient Goddess Tour in London — guiding curious groups through layered city history, sacred sites, and forgotten stories hidden in plain sight.
That work shaped the way I guide today: a love of place, careful research, and the quiet art of holding a group inside a story.

A different perspective
"I see these places through the eyes of an estrangeiro, but one who is deeply committed to the region and to offering meaningful experiences here."
That outsider-insider perspective can bring something special: curiosity, care, and a willingness to look at familiar history from a fresh angle. The tours blend researched history, local legends, site atmosphere, and a real sense of place.
Some guests want a strong historical overview. Others want slower experiences, reflective moments, or a chance to connect with the landscape on a deeper level. Some are drawn to the more unusual or spiritual aspects of these ancient sites — all of these approaches are welcome.
